Carole Pope is an agent provocateur pushing the boundaries of sexuality, sexual politics, and the status quo. Her band Rough Trade was short listed for the Polaris prize and were inducted into the Indy and songwriters Hall of Fame. Pope’s work has been recognized with three Juno Awards, multiple independent music awards, a Genie Award. 4 gold, 1 platinum and 1 double platinum album. Her latest single World’s A Bitch, a collaboration with Church of Trees is available everywhere. Pope co-wrote a musical Attitude with Kate Rigg which they’re in the process of workshopping.

Pope was invited to perform in the R.Murray Schafer Opera Patria and guest starred in Eve Ensler’s smash hit The Vagina Monologues. She appeared in SUCK a Vampire movie along with guest stars Moby, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and Henry Rollins. She appeared and contributed music to the critically acclaimed series Transparent. Pope has toured with David Bowie and performed at Roskilde, World Pride, MOCCA, Fashion Cares 25 with Elton John, Largo, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The AGO, ROM, NAC, Arts Wells, Luminato, Joe’s Pub, The Global Cabaret Festival, The Frostbite Festival, The Vancouver Folk Festival. Riverfest, Mariposa Folk Festival, Toronto, Los Angeles, Reykjavik, Montreal, San Diego, San Francisco Pride Celebrations, the Michigan Womyn’s Festival and The Viper Room. Pope has contributed music to film and television, including Showtime hit The L Word Amazon’s Transparent, Love or Whatever, Never saw it Coming, documentary General Idea Art AIDs and the fin de siecle, The Trailer Park Boys Movie, This Revolution, Queer As Folk, Jeremy Podeswa’s The Five Senses, and the cult favorite Cruising.
