Speaker Bio
Hello, my name is Amy Gabriel. My pronouns are She/They. I am an American transplant from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I have been living in Canada for 12 years. I have been working in the health and services field for over 25 years. I am currently working with children and adults with Autism and I am also a personal caregiver for those with Autism and other complex special needs.
I am a very outgoing and social human being with a huge heart. I love to make new friends wherever I go. I love being in the great outdoors. It heals my heart and calms my soul. You will always find me outside talking to the critters and to the trees. I am all too often on the move and hardly ever sitting still.
I was approached by John Miller to be a member of the board for The Rainbow Club. I quickly said yes. It’s important to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community as a member or as an ally and to celebrate core values of equality, education, respect, tolerance, collaboration, and friendship.
I look forward to the first ever, in-person, pride event in the town of Collingwood. It will be an amazing and unforgettable event.
