Crystal Bell is the manager of Outpatient Mental Health Services at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Crystal is an experienced Health Services Leader with a background in community and health care with 25+ years of experience in mental health and addiction settings. Crystal has focused on anti-oppressive practice throughout her career, seeking to recognize the oppression that exists in our society and attempts to mitigate its effects and equalize the power imbalances at the personal, community and system levels as an advocate and ally for social justice and inequities.



Additionally, Crystal is also an active member of CGMH Inclusivity Working Group, where she and the team were recipient's Board Award of Excellence for their work on Inclusivity. Additional Board Awards of Excellence have been received for Partnerships, Innovation, and Our People for various team projects. On The Bay magazine recognized Crystal as a Grassroots Hero for her role leading the Mental Health team at CGMH through changing times in health care due to the pandemic. She is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and is passionate about educating others on how to be aware, recognize signs and symptoms, and how to support someone experiencing a mental health concern or crisis.
