Anisha Holden-Bensdira currently lives in Collingwood where she is completing her final year of high school.
Over the years Anisha has been recognized as a leader and advocate towards anti-racism and cultural change. She seeks to provide a better framework and understanding for all of the issues surrounding youth, and those of colour.
Anisha currently volunteers at the Collingwood Youth Centre, providing educational podcasts focusing on anti-racism.. Her podcast, rightly named “In you skin” interviews various community members as to their life experiences with colour.
In her efforts to support youth across the world, Anisha has also hosted The Child Freedom Project, a platform for Canadian teachers and students to build meaningful relationships with international partners, these online activities support those in need and promote cultural understanding.
Most recently, Anisha has joined the Unity Collective, a town-sanctioned group, who have a mandate to educate the community and work with council to address systematic racism and diversity in Collingwood.
Anisha’s continuous spirit and mantra is to uplift others.
